Privacy Policy
Nothing leaves your phone.
pAI never connects to the internet. No files, no filenames, no usage data. Here is exactly what that means, in plain language.
Privacy Policy
Last updated June 25, 2026
pAI keeps your files on your device. No files, no filenames, no usage data, and no personal information ever leaves your phone.
Think of pAI as a safe space for the files you actually want to keep track of. Photos you care about, receipts you’ll need at tax time, the PDF you swore you’d find later. You can lock the whole app behind a 4 digit PIN, Face ID, or your fingerprint, so nobody but you can open it.
What pAI works with
When you import a file or folder, pAI copies it into its own private storage inside the app. pAI only ever touches that copy. The originals in your Photos library, Downloads, or wherever you imported from are never renamed, moved, or deleted.
What pAI stores locally
A small JSON file holding the dates, classifications, and folder structure you’ve built up. Your settings (display name, AI toggles, the hash of your PIN if you set one). That’s it. All of it lives in the app’s sandbox on your phone.
What pAI does not do
No accounts. No sign in. No cloud sync. No analytics. No crash reporting. No ads. No advertising or tracking SDKs of any kind.
App updates
pAI uses Expo’s over-the-air update service to deliver bug fixes and improvements without requiring a full app store download. When the app launches, it checks Expo’s servers for a new JavaScript bundle. That check only sends your app version and platform. No files, no filenames, and nothing you store inside pAI is ever included.
App lock, PIN, and biometrics
pAI lets you lock the app with a 4 digit PIN, and optionally with Face ID or your fingerprint on top. The PIN is stored as a one way hash on your device, not as the digits you typed. The biometric check happens entirely inside the operating system, and pAI only ever receives a yes or no answer back. Your biometric data never leaves your phone and pAI cannot read it.
iOS privacy manifest
pAI declares the following Required Reason APIs, all used for app functionality only: file timestamps (C617.1), user defaults (CA92.1), and disk space (E174.1).
Google Play data safety
No data collected. No data shared. No data transferred off the device.
Children
pAI does not collect data from anyone. That includes children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this card changes with it.
